The Moto G84 debuted in August last year (with its release following in September), but its successor seems to be arriving ahead of schedule. In an exciting development for smartphone enthusiasts, we’ve managed to get our hands on exclusive images of the upcoming Moto G85, a device that promises to shake up the mid-range market with its sleek design and powerful features. Here’s everything we know so far about this highly anticipated release.
Moto G85 Images and Design
Product illustrations highlight a largely recognizable design, featuring two rear-facing cameras, a centered hole punch, ultra-thin screen bezels, and dual curves. This could be the most significant difference for the G85 compared to the completely flat Moto G84 with its slightly thicker screen borders.
Moto G85 Specifications
The Moto G85 Geekbench listing reveals an octa-core processor with a 2+6 core configuration, codenamed Malmo. It features two performance cores running at 2.30GHz, six efficiency cores clocked at 2.02GHz, and an Adreno 619 GPU. This seems to be an unannounced processor, likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 3.
The Adreno 619 GPU is found in both the Snapdragon 695 and Snapdragon 480. However, the Snapdragon 695 and Snapdragon 480 have peak frequencies of 2.2GHz and 2.0GHz, respectively. Therefore, this new configuration suggests it could be the successor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.
The Moto G85 appeared on Geekbench running Android 14 and is listed with an 8GB RAM variant. Additionally, it was recently spotted on a European retailer’s website, indicating a 12GB + 256GB configuration option. According to the retailer’s listing, the handset will be priced at €300
